We had some rain, and more is due. The weather is cooling off.

Which hopefully means that fire-season is over and autumn plantings can begin soon.

Dolly will be dearly missed by people of all stripes, and that reflects a life well lived.

This song by Boy Golden is by one of my favorite recent discoveries, who put on a great show at High Sierra Music Festival. It is both incredibly catchy and the lyrics uncannily sum up this moment in time to me:

I am hoping to see the partial lunar eclipse, but earlier today it was heavy, threatening clouds.

I'm also going with "Here comes the sun" from the Beatles.  It's been very overcast recently, moderate amount of rain for the time of year, but over only two days.  So it's really good to see the sun!

Even if / when my days start out like... 'my last two eggs just rolled off the counter onto the floor'.. My 'Favorite Songbird', Melissa Kaplan, never fails to soar my spirit..



..and one of my All Time Fav songs of hers in any category - "the Archer"... Which, as I understand the lyrics, is sung from the 'perspective' of a Hawk - a predatory hunter - Who is, in the song, being hunted by an Archer. What a Cool concept!

I would say Millencolin - Blackeye.  Something about it energising enough to not just get out of bed, but leap off and race to hit back.

The other few songs I would suggest are:
Frank Turner - Plain Sailing Weather
Real McKenzies - I do what I want

If you feel like you need the energy to go against the flow of a stream, these three songs will motivate you enough to do it.
